In the summer of 1927, a 19-year-old American university student set out on what would become one of the greatest mountain adventures in history. Alfred J. Ostheimer III planned a trip to the Canadian Rockies to fulfill field requirements for a Geology course at Harvard, brought along a couple school friends , took the train to Canada, hired a few local guides and horses in Jasper National Park, and proceeded to climb thirty peaks - twenty-seven of them first ascents - in just six days.
