Beautiful Britain is a 14 volume series featuring the work of an artist painted in a certain area of Britain with a written description of the area. This is the Royal Canadian Edition limited to 1000 sets and published by Cambridge Corporation, Montreal, Quebec, Canada in association with A. & C. Black of London. All volumes are uniform in size with various coloured leather covers. Some volumes are numbered but they are not uniform. The lettering and decoration are gilt as is the top edge. The volumes included in the set are: Familiar London painted and described by Rose Barton (208 pages); Oxford painted by John Fulley-Love, described by Edward Thomas (265 pages); Wales painted by Robert Fowler, described by Edward Thomas (213 pages); Sussex painted and described by Wilfrid Ball (197 pages); Happy England painted by Helen Allingham and text by Marcus B. Huish (204 pages); The Scenery of London painted by Herbert M. Marshall and described by G. E. Mitton (223 pages); The Channel Islands painted by Henry B. Wimbush and described by Edith F. Carey (294 pages); Warwickshire painted by F. Whitehead and described by Clive Holland (372 pages); Cambridge painted by William Matthison and described by M. A. R. Tuker (396 pages); London to the Nore painted by W. L.
